Houses from a calibrated bar. Varieties and technology

The most common house made of wood is houses made of timber. They have the same design as houses made of log or rounded logs.  The absolute advantage of houses made of timber is smooth and smooth walls, all details are performed with high accuracy. Such houses do not need interior decoration, are quick to build, and look beautiful and neat. There are three types of timber houses: sawn, planed and glued. Now let's talk about each of them.

Sawn timber is usually minimally processed, and rectangular beams are created from still wet logs (about 50-70% humidity). They are made with different cross-sections and different shapes.   Already on the construction site, a house is assembled from these elements. That is, wood is not suitable for pre-drying, and drying should only take place naturally by settling in the fresh air under the open sky. Therefore, it has such disadvantages as cracks that appear when drying and the walls give a strong shrinkage, it lasts about 5-6 months after construction.

Planed timber is dried in the factory to a dryness of 20-25%, then the tree is planed, from which its name follows. One of the advantages of such a bar is the possibility of painting wood and minimal shrinkage. For minor shrinkage, special frauds are carried out: horizontal internal cutting. At the same time, the outer layer of the bar is not broken - it remains beautiful and smooth. With this styling, special voids are created - pockets. Also, this house retains heat much better, thanks to additional air chambers. For better insulation, the walls are sheathed with siding or clapboard. For better joint density, flax, jute fiber or special sealants are used, which are placed in horizontal joints.

And another type of glued timber is the newest version of houses made of timber, which does not provide for the disadvantages of the previous ones. Glued timber is created from 2 or 3 elements - slats.  An interesting point when gluing logs for a building is that the most durable element of wood, i.e. its core, is located outside. They also take into account the direction of the fibers and place them in opposite directions to prevent warping of the wood. Pre-drying of materials prevents shrinkage of the House.  To create such houses, high-quality adhesives are used that do not pose any danger to human health. The main advantages of glued beams: strength, especially in comparison with other types of beams, the absence of cracks during drying and precise geometric dimensions, angles and shape. For installation, the technology of grooves and ridges is used, which securely fix all elements and prevent moisture or cold from getting inside. Therefore, houses made of glued beams do not need a sealer. Let's look at the technology used to make such houses. The first step is to dry the boards and cut them. At this stage, we get blanks of the desired width. Next, you need to end the workpieces, cut out the defects in the workpieces and cut them out. After receiving defect-free boards, they can be spliced along the length. To do this, glue is applied to the spikes and spliced in this way.   Then the slats must be calibrated, i.e. longitudinally milled, to remove excess glue. The next step is to sort the slats and glue them together into a single bar. Then the bar is calibrated and cut along its entire length. And a house is built from ready-made beams. Houses made of glued beams are reliable, not long in construction and not expensive.
