Safe stairs
Think about how often you make repairs in your home. On average every 15 years, according to statistics, interior repairs are more often performed only in case of force majeure such as moving, or unpleasant situations in the form of fires or flooding by neighbors, but fortunately such force majeure is rare.
But if decorative repairs such as whitewashing walls or replacing certain interior elements occur on average every 15 years, then overhaul with replacement of stairs is even less common, on average every 25-30 years. That is why we provide a 25-year warranty on our Drevych stairs. And it is not surprising that during this time in the homes of our customers several generations grow, first children and then grandchildren. When designing a ladder, it is important to consider not only the beauty of the chosen design, but also the safety of the stairs. Especially for our little kids. The stairs in the house will be of interest to children from an early age.

If in the case of children under 2 years to restrict the movement of the child on the stairs it is very easy to install protection on the stairs in the form of a small gate or wicket, or door fence. Then, from the age of 2, your baby will learn to open it, so this will be a temporary solution to increase the safety of your stairs.
When designing stairs Drevych advice to give preference to stairs with a straight march. Spiral stairs, goose stairs, cantilever stairs, especially without side railings will be the most dangerous in homes with children. Also with regard to the ergonomics of stairs, in our projects we try to convince the client in the safest execution of the chosen design of stairs.
Safe stairs are stairs with a stairway width of at least 80 cm, a stair width of 25-30 cm, an angle of inclination of no more than 35 degrees, and an optimal stair height of 18 cm. These can be solid railings made of tempered glass, such as tubes, rails or balusters, the main requirement for which is the frequency, it must be such that the child's head does not slip between the balusters. We also recommend installing the railing at a height of at least 80-100 cm. This height of the stair railing is required so that the baby could not climb over it or accidentally lean down. We adults need to understand that children simply will not walk slowly up the stairs due to their temperament, but run as they run in homes and rooms. The same phrase do not run up the stairs is likely to be ineffective, so you and I should make the stairs so that they are as comfortable and safe as possible. And wood as a universal material is ideal for this. Wood is warm to the touch, unlike concrete, metal or stone, and is quite rough due to the large number of pores of the wood, so it will be most comfortable for small feet to move up the wooden stairs. If you notice that your baby is slippery even on wooden stairs, we recommend installing temporary mats. So you do not spoil your stairs, and you can easily remove them when your baby is old enough to slip and lose balance on the stairs.

So, let your home be filled with children's laughter. And Drevych wishes you and your family only the best. If you want to get advice on safe stairs, then fill out the form below.
