Stairs on kosours

A beautiful home is primarily about properly designed details. Comfort and comfort should be present in every corner of your space, which is why creating an interior should be approached thoroughly, thinking through every detail. An important detail of the house is the staircase. Stairs must not only meet the requirements of building codes in such a house, but also be attractive. Often, combining these characteristics, people choose stairs on kosours.

Stairs on kosours are one of the most common types of stairs. Kosour is the supporting part of the staircase frame to which the steps are attached. It must be located under the steps. The element is presented in the form of stair beams located on each flight, to which the steps are attached. When you look at the entire structure from the side, you can see their end face. The detail helps to create a special style, give originality to simple stairs. Most often, this element is used in the design instead of a bowstring, but the function performed is the same. It is the skewers that help to visually reduce the stairs, making them not so large.

Kosour must according to the norms withstand the weight of a person and even when lifting heavy objects to the second floor, there can be no question of any vibrations. If you feel that the kosour is shaking or swaying during the ascent, it means that a gross mistake was made during its construction.

There are several materials that can be used to create kosours without violating the construction technology. Oblique ladders can be made of wood, which makes them better bowstrings, since the weight is significantly reduced. For the manufacture of skewers on wooden stairs, use a log, bar or boards. With a small staircase, this option is optimal.  Skewers for stairs are made of solid solid wood. Oak, ash and Beech stairs are the most popular and durable options. Skewers have a thickness of 40 - 80 mm. and a shape in the form of a saw blade. They can be located either at the edges of the steps, or shifted to the center. A kosour placed in the center is called a monocosour. Stairs on a monocosour always look neat and elegant. When making such stairs, you need to be very attentive to details. Even the slightest errors will ruin your staircase. Note that it is better to use glued boards made of oak, beech and other hardwoods. A solid board may crack during Operation. In addition to wood, it is necessary to distinguish several types of materials.

Metal. Metal kosour for stairs is made of a profile pipe, less often it can be a channel or an I-beam. In shape, these can be zigzag skewers, also called polyline skewers, they consist of vertical and horizontal parts of a pipe cut at an angle of 45 and welded together. The second option is a straight section of pipe with skates for fixing the steps. The difference between them is only in appearance, and these options are identical in technical characteristics. Metal skewers can be of various shapes due to the ease of processing of this material. Therefore, if you want, for example, a spiral staircase, then choose metal skewers.

Reinforced concrete, polymers and composite materials are also used for the manufacture of skewers. The latter are characterized by a lower price and worse appearance and performance characteristics. Massive reinforced concrete structures are formed during finishing works. They have a lot of weight, so the basis for them must be calculated at the stage of creating the project. Subsequently, the foundation will be placed parallel to how the foundation is laid. The design feature of such a base is its weight. It makes it unsuitable for installation in apartment buildings.

So, the stairs on kosours are not in vain so popular. They are perfect for rooms with a small area. The various variations of materials from which skewers can be made make this design a universal option even for the most demanding customers. Wide functionality allows you to experiment with shapes and designs. Thanks to this, such stairs can be made individually for any interior. Classic, minimalism, high-tech, loft, Scandinavian styles - all of them can be embodied in the stairs on kosour.
