Top 5 tips on how to save on the stairs

Stairs are the largest design of your interior, which should be comfortable, safe for all residents and aesthetically pleasing. If all the finishing work of your interior is coming to a logical end, you should hurry up with the order of stairs. The term of making stairs in Drevich is two months, so it should be taken into account in your repair calendar, so that there is no delay in this product.

We have been making stairs for more than 16 years and during this time we have identified 5 main rules on how to make your stairs affordable without loss of quality:

1.Open staircase frame. Such a frame is a frame without steps. Open frame ladders can be made of wood as a ladder on strings or strings, and a metal frame. On open stairs, you do not immediately spend on the manufacture of stair treads.

2.Choice of stair material. We recommend using only hardwood, oak, ash or, in extreme cases, beech. Beech is the cheapest species of Ukrainian wood, but it is very capricious to moisture changes and due to the spotted structure is mostly suitable for stairs covered with either dark colors or enamel, where the structure of the tree is not visible. If you do not want to compromise on quality, we advise you to pay attention to the stairs from the second grade of oak or ash wood

Such stairs will be extremely strong and durable, the only thing that will distinguish them from stairs made of high-grade wood is a more interesting heterogeneous natural texture of the stairs.

3.Avoid sloping stairs. Plan and design the stairwell so that most stairs are rectangular, as sloping or non-rectangular stairs are much more expensive.

4.Balusters handrails and balustrades. If you want the cost of stairs not to be extraordinary, you should not choose such designs of stairs in which several balusters are placed on one step. Well, balustrades made of stainless steel and tempered glass will always cost more than metal and wood. When choosing handrails, you should also pay attention to the usual straight handrails are not bent or twisted. Also, if the stairwell is surrounded on all sides by walls, then the balusters and handrails can be abandoned completely. And replacing them either with a wall handrail like here (link to Inexpensive stairs to the second floor) or on rails, because the safety function of such handrails and balusters will not perform.

5.Stair cladding with decorative panels and plinths. When choosing a staircase design, the rule is always the more expensive. However, if you have chosen the design of stairs with plinths, we recommend to use plinth materials of a chipboard, MDF or plywood for production of plinths. Slabs are easily veneered with valuable wood on the outside, but are cheaper than wood and will not affect the quality.
